Kurt Schoonraad
News Cafe Table View is proud to present the start of a monthly comedy evening every last Tuesday of the month starting 31st August 2011.
The evening opens with the musical prowess of a Table View local Matt Roux. Matt is a singer-songwriter influenced by the likes of John Mayer, Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson. Winner of the 2010 Barleycorn Songwriter’s competition Matt is quickly becoming a firm favourite in the various music venues of Cape Town.
Hosting the evening is none other than one of South Africa’s most coveted comedians Mark Palmer. Mark is a rare find in the comedy world and delivers comedy with a clean, cringe free style of humour. He is one of the hardest working comics in the country and is frequently jetting across the country to host and perform at various corporate and public functions.
The support act for the evening is one of Cape Town’s fastest up and coming acts, Werner Weber. Werner is currently in the process of putting his début one man show on the boards at the end of September. Keep your eyes out for this comedian as he delivers his alternate view on the world in a clever and quirky manner.
The main attraction for the evening is none other than the most loved Cape Town comic, Kurt Schoonraad. Kurt is regarded as one of the most diverse acts in the country and has done TV and film work aside from his stand up routines. A keen mind and sharp eye guarantees that Kurt will have the audience in stitches.
Bookings for the show is essential and can be done by phoning News Cafe directly on 021 557 6336. Entry for the show is R50.00 and starts at 20:30 sharp.
